Vanessa LATARCHE
Qualifications: FRCM, Hon ARAM, FTCL, ARCM, LRAM
Having studied at the Royal College of Music and also in Paris and the USA, Vanessa was a prize-winner in several international piano competitions.She has worked with many orchestras in Europe, has broadcast numerous recitals for BBC Radio Three, and taken part in festivals as both soloist and chamber musician, where she has partnered some of Britain’s leading soloists.
Her interest in Bach led to a performance of the complete ‘48’ Preludes and Fugues over four consecutive evenings at Lichfield International Festival. She is now the Head of Keyboard at the Royal College of Music having previously been a professor of piano at the Royal Academy of Music from 1992 until 2005, where she was made an honorary associate in 1997.
Vanessa is a moderator, trainer and diploma examiner for the Associated Board, in which capacities she has travelled worldwide, including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, and New Zealand. She is a well known adjudicator, having sat on the BBC Young Musician keyboard final panel, amongst other international piano competitions.
