This post is offered on a permanent, full-time basis.
Founded in 1882, the Royal College of Music (RCM) is a world-leading music conservatoire with a prestigious history and contemporary outlook. Our 800 undergraduate and postgraduate students come from over 60 countries and are taught in a dynamic environment, leaving the RCM to become the outstanding performers, conductors and composers of the future.
The Performance and Programming department which has responsibility for planning and organising all concerts at the College is now looking to recruit a Chamber Music Assistant. This role provides an excellent opportunity for someone looking to gain experience of arts administration and we are seeking an enthusiastic individual who will thrive in the busy atmosphere of the Performance & Programming team. The successful applicant will have excellent communication skills, interacting regularly with students and professors, overseeing payments and coaching for all chamber music. The Chamber Music Assistant will have a meticulous eye for detail, and a flair for writing about music in a concise and engaging way, producing over thirty chamber concert programmes per term. The candidate will also be interested in gaining professional stage management experience. The postholder will handle a variety of requests on a daily basis and will be able to efficiently prioritise a varied workload.
