Salary: £14,500 per annum

This placement is offered on a full-time basis for a fixed-term period of 12 months and is available from summer 2018.
We are seeking a Trainee Recording Engineer to join the RCM Studios team for a 12 months’ training placement. Located adjacent to the Royal Albert Hall in South Kensington, it provides specialised musical education and professional training at the highest international level for performers and composers. The RCM Studios provides professional recording, audio-visual and music technology services to support College students, research and events. This includes archive recording and filming of concerts, audio and video sessions for auditions and competition entries, scoring sessions for student film composers, web streaming of major concerts, masterclasses and events (featuring some of the world’s most famous conductors and performers), and remote masterclasses and performances via videoconferencing. Additionally, some recordings take place at external concert halls, churches and commercial studios across London.
This placement would be ideally suited to a student wishing to undertake a placement year as part of their studies. Successful completion of at least 2 years’ degree-level study in the fundamentals of sound engineering, music recording or a related subject, or equivalent qualifications and experience is essential.
