Treasures from the RCM Collections

Ingrid Pearson

Ingrid Pearson, Deputy Head of the Graduate School, has recently given a lecture as part of the Gresham College Lecture Series.

Entitled ‘Celebrating the past: treasures from the RCM collections’, she discussed items from the RCM Library and Centre for Performance History including a new acquisition – the earliest know English-language tutor for the clarinet, published in London circa 1772.

Ingrid’s lecture is available to watch online on the Gresham College website.

Founded in 1597, Gresham College is London’s oldest Higher Education Institution. Gresham Professors and other visiting speakers offer over 100 free public events every year. For details of forthcoming lectures, please visit www.gresham.ac.uk

Please note that the Museum of Instruments is currently closed for refurbishment and will reopen to the public on 13 September 2011.
