Inside Opera: Live

RCM Director of Opera Michael Rosewell will appear on Inside Opera: Live on Saturday 10 May 2014.

This unique online event offers unprecedented behind-the-scenes access and insight into opera. Designed for anyone who is new to opera (but with obvious appeal for opera fans), Inside Opera: Live will air specially commissioned films from all the major British opera companies, live interviews with singers and directors, and live links to rehearsals, backstage and community-based activities.

Seven of the UK’s opera companies – English National Opera, English Touring Opera, Northern Ireland Opera, Opera North, The Royal Opera, Scottish Opera, and Welsh National Opera – will come together as part of this Europe-wide celebration of opera. Michael will appear alongside the likes of John Berry & Edward Gardner (ENO), Kasper Holten (ROH), Richard Mantle (ON) and Alex Reedijk (SO).

Michael Rosewell is also Music Director of English Touring Opera, who recently received the 2014 Olivier Award for Outstanding Achievement in Opera.

Inside Opera: Live will be live streamed online from 2pm to 6pm at theguardian.com/classical and youtube.com/insideopera
