RCM Live: Spring 2015

Wednesday 14 January 2015

The Royal College of Music continues its ground-breaking series of live broadcasts this spring with a tranche of major events being streamed online.

Since the establishment of the RCM Studios in 1969, the RCM has been committed to developing and utilising digital technology to expand and enhance student activities. Broadcasting selected events live online via www.rcm.ac.uk/live provides a fantastic platform to showcase the musical life of the RCM and engage with a world-wide audience.

Many of the live broadcasts – which range from large scale orchestral performances to intimate chamber music recitals and masterclasses – are subsequently available to watch on the RCM YouTube channel which since its launch in 2008 has received more than 500,000 views

This season’s live broadcasts include:

  • A performance of Shostakovich’s Cello Concerto no 1 on Sunday 18 January at 7.00pm;

  • An all-day keyboard festival featuring pieces from Messiaen’s Catalogue d’oseaux on Sunday 8 March from 11.00am;

  • An orchestral performance of Berlioz, Debussy and Chopin conducted by Vladimir Ashkenazy on Friday 13 March at 7.30pm.

All RCM broadcasts are streamed at www.rcm.ac.uk/live. For full details visit our Live Broadcasts events page.
