Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform

Tuesday 10 March 2015

RCM saxophonist Philip Attard and pianist Luka Okros have been chosen for the Tillett Trust Young Artists’ Platform 2015

Luka and Philip are the only two performers selected by the Trust for this year’s Platform. As well as offering them practical and financial support, the scheme gives them the opportunity to perform at London’s Wigmore Hall in December 2015.

Both musicians are studying for their Masters at the RCM – Philip with Kyle Horch, supported by the Janatha Stubbs Foundation and Malta Arts Scholarships, and Luka with Norma Fisher, supported by a Ruth West Scholarship and a Stanbridge Drake-Brockman Award.

For more than 30 years, the Tillett Trust has been financially supporting young classical musicians when they need it most at the very start of their professional solo careers. The  Young Artists’ Platform selects by audition a small number of musicians each year with a view to their giving them a shared London platform at Wigmore Hall before going on to play at music festivals and concert societies around the UK.

Previous Tillett Trust Young Artists include RCM musicians Soh-Yon Kim (violin), Laura Snowden (guitar) and Joo Yeon Sir (violin).
