Peter Savidge has appeared regularly with The Royal Opera, Covent Garden, Welsh National Opera, Opera North, Glyndebourne and Scottish Opera, and in opera houses in France, Belgium, Holland, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Israel and Singapore. His repertoire includes the major roles in operas by Mozart, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, Puccini, Strauss, Bizet, Gounod and Massenet, and he is particularly associated with those of Benjamin Britten.
He has performed and recorded with Sir Charles Mackerras, Andre Previn, Colin Davis, John Eliot Gardiner and Steuart Bedford. His concert and recital work has taken him to Australia, New Zealand and South America, in London with the Bach Choir under Sir David Willcocks and throughout Europe with Frans Bruggen and Ton Koopman. Equally at ease in light music, he starred in the Opera North/RSC production of Showboat at the London Palladium. He has made many broadcasts and televisiona ppearances, and recorded three albums of songs by Bax, Vaughan Williams and Bantock.
