Fauré Requiem

Esteemed Dutch conductor Jac van Steen leads the RCM Symphony Orchestra and Chorus in this all-French programme featuring a symphonic poem, a nocturne and a requiem. Gentle but powerful, Fauré's undeniably beautiful Requiem provides an exquisite centrepiece for the evening. RCM instrumentalists and singers combine for a truly moving performance, carrying the audience through a breath-taking array of emotions.

Our evening of French music also marks 100 years since the death of Lili Boulanger, the first woman to win the Prix de Rome composition prize. D'un soir triste was the last piece Boulanger composed by hand – she died mere months later at the age of 24. Hear the exquisitely sad composition masterfully handled by the full symphony orchestra in a performance that is not to be missed.
