Back in 2010, Sir Roger Norrington conducted RCM musicians in a very special project with some unique instruments: a recreation of the instruments that featured in Louis XIV’s 24 Violons du Roi – the world’s first orchestra.
The project was such a huge success that we’re bringing it back in 2012 – this time with recreations of all 24 instruments, painstakingly produced at the Palace of Versailles itself. Sir Roger Norrington conducts RCM performers in some of the UK’s and France’s most important concert venues.
In collaboration with the Centre de musique baroque de Versailles.
