Great Exhibitionists: Outside-in (final performance)
6:00pm | 22 March 2018 | Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall
Zacharias Karnekull Wolfe, Oliver Buckland, Ji Heng Lee concept and composition
With inspiration drawn from Existentialism and Stoicism, the installation Outside-in explores our relationship to the world around us, through the use of sound.
In the first part, you are invited to experience sounds from inside and outside the College, from present and past times, reproduced within the installation space. While the first part is about submission, acceptance and observation, the second part explores the power we have to change the world around us and our own lives. After having intensified over the course of the day, the soundscape here collapses, paving the way for a new beginning.
As a collective body we then create our own sound environment through the use of simple text instructions. After having been observers we are now creators. Your freedom and power to choose is in focus and your voice matters.
Part of the Royal College of Music's Great Exhibitionists series.
Tickets: Free but required
