Nancy Hadden has delighted audiences all over the world with her performances on renaissance and baroque flutes. American-born, she has made London her home since 1978. Nancy's first recording, Flute Music of the 16th and 17th Centuries (Hyperion), was a ground-breaking achievement, reviving the repertoire and playing techniques of the renaissance flute. Her recordings now number more than twenty-five, ranging from Henry VIII to Bach, Handel and Mozart. She works with many renowned early music specialists, including lutenists Paul O'Dette and Nigel North, harpsichordists Colin Tilney and Lucy Carolan, violinist Catherine Mackintosh and soprano Julianne Baird. Forthcoming solo and chamber music releases will highlight music of CPE Bach, Campra and Purcell and French chansons and Elizabethan ballads with the renaissance ensemble, Circa 1500, which she directs.
