Dr Pande Shahov

Pande Shahov studied composition with Risto Avramovski and Tomislav Zografski in Macedonia. As a Chevening scholar, he completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Composition at the Royal College of Music, where he studied with Julian Anderson. In 2013, he completed his doctorate at the Royal Holloway University of London, under Philip Cashian’s supervision.
His music has been performed by the Macedonian and Sofia Philharmonic Orchestras, New London Chamber Choir, Smith Quartet, Lontano, Ixion, Chroma, Composers’ and Kokoro ensembles. Recent performances include Symphony of Songs and Epitaphs (Macedonian National Opera) and Trio for clarinet, viola and piano (ConTempora Ensemble).
Pande’s experience as an educator is not limited to composition and compositional techniques but extends onto analysis and musicianship. He has also been active as an organiser of concerts, workshops leader and conductor of new music.
Pande teaches a range of academic studies at the Senior RCM. He also holds the post of Head of Aural and Musicianship at the RCM Junior Department.
