Student support

RCM student
The Royal College of Music welcomes students from all backgrounds, no matter what their personal circumstances. We are committed to nurturing students in their academic and professional development as well as providing a friendly and supportive environment in which to work.

We offer a wide range of support across the RCM, including academic support from personal advisors, English language support, career development guidance from the Creative Careers Centre and excellent peer support from the Students’ Union.

Student Services team

Our experienced and supportive Student Services Team offers a confidential and impartial advice service to all students, in person and online. The RCM’s Student Services team provides pastoral care, counselling, disability support and guidance on a range of matters including healthfinance and accommodation. Students are welcome to arrange a time to meet with the Student Services Manager for an informal chat or to browse the excellent range of information and resources on offer.

Health & wellbeing

Keeping healthy is important for any musician. The RCM actively investigates and promotes health and wellbeing through teaching and research. We encourage all our students to register with a doctor and remind international students to check they have adequate insurance to cover health costs if needed.

We are proud members of the Healthy Conservatoires Network. Our work at the forefront of the Fit to Perform research project enables us to enact the very best policies for the health of all RCM musicians.
