Summer Music
Summer Music is our annual series of workshops that run alongside the BBC Proms. There are different events for all ages, from one day creative work for 6 to 12 year olds, composition courses for teenagers and discovery sessions for adults.

Play and sing, compose and create, bang and shake!
These fun, hands-on workshops offer beginners and more experienced players the opportunity to take part in an afternoon of live music-making while learning more about music featured in BBC Proms concerts.

Summer Springboard: Composition Course

Take part in some incredible music-making this summer!
With the support of professional workshop leaders and a team of young RCM musicians, improvise, jam, compose, create and perform a new piece inspired by music from the BBC Proms. This is for all abilities and musical styles so come along and share your ideas.
During the course you will spend a day at BBC Proms Inspire where you will join other young composers for workshops and hear showcase performances. You will also experience an exclusive tour of the Royal Albert Hall and receive a free ticket for you and an adult to attend a Prom concert. For more detailed information click on the dates above.
Discovery Sessions
Music lovers of all ages (N.B. may not be suitable for young children) | Free

Join us to explore some of the hidden treasures from the RCM and Royal Albert Hall!
These include original manuscript scores, letters, ancient instruments, music-related portraits, original programmes and other Proms and Royal Albert Hall memorabilia. Discovery Sessions link closely to Proms, adding an extra dimension to your concert experience. For more detailed information click on the dates above.
