Alastair Blayden enjoys a musical life that is as wide as it is varied. Since studying at the Royal College of Music where he was a scholar with William Pleeth, he has performed or recorded music ranging from Haydn’s Quartets (Dante Quartet) to John T. William’s sound track for Star Wars (London Symphony Orchestra) and has performed extensively as a member of the Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.

He also regularly broadcasts for BBC Radio 3 with the Dante Quartet. As a student he was privileged to have studied chamber music with the Amadeus Quartet and the Borodin Quartet in collaboration with Rostropovich.
