The RCM depends on the generosity of individuals to help fund many areas of its work. By remembering the RCM when making your Will or adding a Codicil (an appendix) to an existing Will you will have a direct and lasting effect on the future of classical musicians, ensuring that they receive they very highest levels of professional training and are able to work and perform as some of the very best musicians in the world.
It is for this reason that we are asking RCM supporters to consider remembering the RCM in their wills. Unrestricted legacies enable us to support the areas of the College's work with the greatest need at any one time. If, however, you would like a particular aspect to benefit from your gift, this can also be arranged.
By remembering the RCM in your Will you could play a significant role in shaping the future of music.
You can specify how you would like the money to be spent by choosing one of the following:
Alternatively a non-specific bequest can be made, alllowing the RCM to use the funds wherever the need is greatest at the time and respond quickly to new opportunities for its students.
A gift in your Will can be recognised in a number of ways, and the RCM is happy to discuss these options with you on an individual basis, to suit your needs and requirements.
A Will is an effective legal document that can help safeguard the future of those you care about and allows you to finalise your estate in a way that best reflects your wishes. There are many ways in which a legacy can take effect and we recommend that you seek professional legal advice to guide you through this process.
You might choose to leave a pecuniary legacy specifying the precise amount, or a residual legacy expressed as a proportion of your estate remaining after other bequests have been honoured. It is possible to change a Will at any time by adding a codicil which stipulates any amendments you wish to make to the original. Your solicitor will be able to help you make a codicil.
