Bass Clarinet

Since leaving the RCM in 1988 I have combined an orchestral career with chamber music and teaching activities. I have specialised on the bass clarinet for many years and have worked with all of the leading London orchestras including the LSO, RPO, Philharmonia and LPO, plus many of the provincial orchestras. In 1997 I was invited to join the London Philharmonic Orchestra as Principal Bass Clarinet, taking over the position previously held by Stephen Trier, with whom I studied. I am a member of the Thurston Clarinet Quartet which, as well as giving recitals and broadcasts for radio and television, has also made two recordings for ASV.
