Faculty Officer (Strings, Percussion & Historical Performance)

The Royal College of Music (RCM) is one of the world's greatest conservatoires. The RCM also achieved an overall rating of gold for its outstanding teaching and learning provision for undergraduates in the first ever Teaching Excellence Framework (TEF).

We are seeking to engage a Faculty Officer to join the Faculties Office team at the RCM. The successful applicant will be responsible for providing logistical and administrative support to Strings, Percussion & Historical Performance faculties and general administrative support to the Faculties Office. Key duties include:

  • Plan and run masterclasses and residencies
  • Provide administrative support for faculty open days, projects and festivals
  • Administer faculty class arrangements
  • Administer the arrangements for RCM competitions
  • Arrange payment for all work for the Strings, Percussion & Historical Performance Faculty including faculty classes, masterclasses, residencies, accompanying, stewarding and adjudicating

The successful candidate will have previous experience of working in an academic environment and excellent organisational, communication and IT skills. The role requires an ability to work effectively, flexibly and creatively on a variety of different tasks and we are looking for someone with a high level of attention to detail. Strong working knowledge of classical music and associated performance requirements is desirable.

 This post is offered on a permanent, full-time basis and is available from Tuesday 27 August 2019.
