Double Success for RCM composer

Tuesday 26 July 2011

Composer and RCM alumnus Mark Bowden has been appointed to positions at two of the UK's leading cultural organisations.

In June 2011, Mark was appointed Resident Composer at the BBC National Orchestra of Wales. He will be writing several new works for the orchestra, and developing new projects in collaboration with the outreach department. His first project will be a cello concerto entitled lyra for the cellist Oliver Coates.

Mark has also been appointed as Music Fellow to the Rambert Dance Company. This position is funded by the PRS for Music Foundation, the Coln Trust, the Golsoncott Foundation and the Idlewild Trust, and will see Mark working closely with the company over the next year. Mark is the second Music Fellow at the company, following on from fellow RCM alumnus Gavin Higgins.
