RCM composer Edwin Hillier has been selected for the Sound and Music / NMC Higher Education Programme.

This new programme offers composers the chance to receive professional mentoring, to work with leading contemporary music practitioners, and to receive a performance and broadcast of their work.

Edwin will be writing a new work for mezzo-soprano Lore Lixenberg, the London Sinfonietta and Sound Intermedia which will be premiered at the Huddersfield Festival of Contemporary Music in November 2015 and streamed on the NMC Recordings website.

Edwin is currently undertaking a Masters in Composition at the RCM, studying with Jonathan Cole and Kenneth Hesketh. He is a Polonsky Scholar, supported by an Ian Evans Lombe award, and receives the support of both the Ralph Vaughan Williams Trust and the Arts and Humanities Research Council.
