Wednesday 23 March 2016

RCMJD pianist Vincent Ling has won the Beethoven Junior Intercollegiate Piano Competition.

The competition offers young pianists at junior level a fantastic opportunity to perform works from the Beethoven sonata repertoire in front of a distinguished jury.

Malcolm Miller praised Vincent’s performance for ‘maturity and polish that belied his years. He produced a rich resonance, and radiated an attractive and relaxed sonority.’

Vincent, 15, studies with Natasa Lipovšek at RCMJD. In addition to a cash award, he was presented with a copy of the two volume Schnabel Edition of Beethoven’s piano sonatas.
