International vocal success

Friday 30 January 2015

RCM singers have been enjoying international success this month.

Soprano Galina Averina (pictured) has been awarded both the Sextio Premio and the Audience Prize at the Francisco Viñas Competition held at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona. Galina is a member of the RCM’s International Opera School and recently sang the role of Pamina in the 2014 production of Mozart’s The Magic Flute.

The achievements continue with soprano Josephine Goddard winning a Miriam Licette Award at the prestigious Maggie Teyte Competition, and soprano Laure Poissonnier being offered a place at L’Atelier Lyrique de l’Opéra national de Paris. Laure is currently studying for an MPerf in Vocal Performance and will take up her place on the highly esteemed training programme in the 2015/16 season.
