We expect the Royal College of Music’s full range of facilities to be operating as normal by September 2021, with all our exceptional teaching and performance opportunities taking place on our campus in the heart of London. Our brand-new facilities, the result of a £40million investment in our campus, are now open.

We ran two Virtual Open Days on Wednesday 29 July and Thursday 6 August 2020 for prospective applicants for 2021 entry. The events were held online and offered applicants the opportunity to explore our faculties and hear first-hand from professors and students about all aspects of life at the RCM.

We have been closely monitoring the ongoing situation with coronavirus in the UK and across the world, as the safety of our applicants is paramount. As a result, the majority of our auditions that would normally take place in November and December in London for 2021 entry will not be held in person. Applicants who would have auditioned live in London will be auditioned by submission of a video recording. Interviews for the Doctoral Programme, MSc in Performance Science and MEd in Music Education will now all take place online. We hope to still hold second round Conducting auditions live in London in the Spring, if Government guidance allows.

We will also not be holding any live auditions at our overseas audition venues for 2021 entry. Applicants who would have auditioned at our venues in Asia or the USA will be auditioned by submission of a video recording. If you already submitted a pre-screening video, this will be used as your video audition. You will not need to submit another video.

All candidates will still automatically be considered for scholarships, regardless of audition method.

Consultation lessons are still available with many of our professors, usually on an online basis. If you are interested in a consultation lesson, please contact the relevant Faculty. Contact details can be found on the Faculty webpages.
