I am delighted to welcome in-person audiences to the Royal College of Music for the first time in 18 months to experience music in the newly unveiled, state-of-the-art Performance Hall, and see RCM students united with celebrated musicians from around the world for an exciting and wide-ranging programme.
Highlights of the autumn season include the return of masterclasses and a series of orchestral masterworks concerts. Among those invited this season are acclaimed violinist and RCM graduate Francesca Dego, accomplished pianist Bernard d'Ascoli, and members of the Chamber Orchestra of Europe.
Under the direction of internationally renowned conductor Martyn Brabbins, the RCM Philharmonic perform some of Wagner’s most memorable and thrilling moments, including excerpts from his Ring Cycle. Another concert in this series brings a touch of Hollywood magic, as the RCM Philharmonic presents works from Disney, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones.
Curator Gabriele Rossi Rognoni and I are also thrilled to be hosting the first of our weekly Friday chamber performances in the newly developed Royal College of Music Museum, following its significant redevelopment.
