Brass Explosion!: The science behind sound and music
Join RCM Sparks for inspiring music activities as part of a day of free events in South Kensington offering thousands of students between the ages of 13 and 19 the chance to explore work in the creative industries and creative careers.
Music and science collide in multidisciplinary shows from the Royal College of Music and Imperial College London. In partnership with Discover South Kensington’s ‘Creative Quarter Day’, these exciting one-hour sessions will explore the science of sound and brass instruments through the interactive use of laser sound-wave projection, vacuum chambers and much more! The show will also feature an Opera singer attempting to smash a wine glass through the power of their voice!
The show is suitable for secondary school music and science department pupils in Years 7-9.
