Join composer Fraser Trainer, creative producer Sarah Philips and a talented team of young RCM musicians in the inspiring surroundings of Queen Victoria's childhood bedroom at Kensington Palace.
You will be part of a unique, creative, and eclectic ensemble that will make original music through fun, engaging and practical workshops.
Responding to the two major new exhibitions created to mark the 200th anniversary of Victoria's birth at Kensington Palace, you will take inspiration from Victoria’s own music boxes, concert books and instruments and have the opportunity to perform your final composition in the Palace.
This course will develop musical creativity, performance skills and group collaboration and will suit instrumentalists, singers, composers and song writers from any musical background with an open attitude to inventing music alongside others. The course takes an accessible, practical hands-on approach so there's no requirement to be able to read or notate music.
Please note that due to the nature of the venue, it is preferable for participants to bring a portable, acoustic instrument. For pianists who do not play another instrument please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss possible options.
