Beethoven Symphony no 4 in B flat major op 60
Beethoven Symphony no 7 in A major op 92
This truly is a concert of two halves, featuring a programme beginning with Beethoven’s reflective fourth Symphony with its long, solemn opening movement.
Then we arrive at the composer's seventh Symphony, where caution is thrown to the wind. In contrast, this symphony is full of rhythmic drive, ending with a triumphant theme full of hope and jubilation.
