Almass Badat and Attia Shiraz present a unique live DJ set featuring orchestral musicians, blending traditional and contemporary South Asian sounds.
Almass Badat is an international DJ, MC & broadcaster who weaves global sounds with cultural crossover and live instrumentation. Her DJ sets uplift and connect people, journeying through her South Asian heritage, Lusaka & London upbringing and her world travels. If you see her live, you’ll catch yourself singing & moving along with Almass while dancing to your own beat - the epitome of exploring yourself through music.
As the closing event for the RCM Museum’s summer exhibition Awaken: Sufi Music & Women of South Asia, this performance will journey you through a transcendent exploration of the sound, culture, and expression of Sufism.
Digital and mixed media artist Natasha the Dreamer will provide surreal imagery to transport you into a world of Sufism and women in music from South Asia.
Supported by Cockayne – Grants for the Arts and the London Community Foundation
The Museum will remain open until 19:20 on the 9th to give audience members the chance to see the exhibition prior to the event.
