Elizabeth Butler

Having studied with a wide range of professors (Sydney Humphreys, Manoug Parikian, Gwynne Edwards, Fred Riddle, Piero Farulli) in both Canada and England, Elizabeth has always had a deep interest in teaching as well as performing. While doing joint first study violin and viola at the Royal Academy of Music she won the Frederick Durrant Prize.

Although the majority of her work has been with orchestras such as the London Symphony, Philharmonia and Royal Philharmonic (of which she was a member for four years), she has also much experience of contemporary music, having played extensively for Ballet Rambert and the London Sinfonietta.
