We’re delighted to announce that Stefan Dohr, Principal Horn with the Berlin Philharmonic, has been appointed as a Visiting Professor at the RCM.

Stefan says: 'There are no words which can convey my excitement about being appointed Visiting Professor of Horn at London's Royal College of Music. It is a great honour to join this prestigious institution in such an outstanding location! I thoroughly enjoy teaching whenever I get the chance to fit it in and look forward to sharing my knowledge with the students of the Royal College of Music.’

Stefan is widely regarded as one of the greatest horn players of our time, singled out in the Guardian’s In Praise editorial as a ‘special musician’, whose ‘range of expression… was one of the stand-out contributions’ on hearing the Berlin Phil in concert.

Stefan was principal horn of the Frankfurt Opera and Museum Orchestra before joining the Berlin Philharmonic in 1993. As a soloist he collaborated with conductors such as Daniel Barenboim, Bernard Haitink, Claudio Abbado and Sir Simon Rattle.
