Sir James Galway flute
Internationally renowned flautist and RCM alumnus Sir James Galway returns for this early evening masterclass in the beautiful Inner Parry Room.
Galway began his career as an orchestral musician, working with the BBC, Sadlers Wells, Royal Opera Covent Garden, London Symphony Orchestra and Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1975 he has enjoyed a career as an in-demand soloist, regularly touring the world performing a wide range of repertoire. Galway has commissioned new flute works by composers such as Adamo, Amram, Bolcom, Corigliano, Heath, Lieberman and Maazel, and is the Ulster Orchestra's first Artist Laureate.
Recognition for Sir James Galway includes lifetime achievement awards from Gramophone, the Classic Brits and the National Concert Hall Dublin, as well as admission to The Hollywood Bowl Hall of Fame.
