RCMJD Big Band
The Junior Department Big Band led by saxophonist Mornington Lockett makes its fifth appearance in the RAH Late Night Jazz series.
The sixteen-piece big band breaks down into smaller combos to perform a broad spectrum of jazz and world music, spanning swing, bebop, jazz-funk, latin, Afrobeat and other popular styles.
Led by saxophonist Mornington Lockett, the programme will include music by Artie Shaw, Cannonball Adderley, Horace Silver, Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, the Jazz Messengers, John Coltrane, Chick Corea, Robert Jospé, Lionel Loueke and Nate Smith.

Turangalîla at the Royal Festival Hall
The Royal College of Music Symphony Orchestra, led by acclaimed conductor Jac van Steen, perform Messiaen’s epic masterpiece Turangalîla-symphonie at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on Wednesday 1 May, 7.30pm.
