Lyutsia Ibragimova

Lyutsia Ibragimova received her undergraduate and postgraduate diplomas from the Moscow Conservatoire, where she studied under the renowned Professor Igor Bezrodny.

Between 1977 and 1991, she toured extensively as a soloist and chamber musician with leading Russian ensembles, including Ricercar, the Moscow Instrumental Capella, and the Moscow Academy of Ancient Music. During this period, she collaborated with such distinguished artists as Sviatoslav Richter, Leonid Kogan, Gidon Kremer, Oleg Kagan, Natalia Gutman, Alexei Lubimov, Tatiana Grindenko, and many others.

Since having moved to the United kingdom in 1996 Lyutsia has dedicated most of her time to teaching where she went on to teach at both the Yehudi Menuhin School and the Royal College of Music.

Her students have achieved notable success, prize winners or laureates of prestigious international and national competitions such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition, the Yehudi Menuhin International Violin Competition, Windsor Festival International String Competition, BBC Young Musician of the Year and many more.

Among her most prominent former students are Nicola Benedetti, Benjamin Marquise Gilmore, Claire Wells, SongHa Choi, and Alina Ibragimova. Many of her pupils have gone on to enjoy outstanding international careers, some hold concertmaster positions in leading UK and overseas orchestras such as the LSO , Orchestra of The Royal Opera House and Boston Symphony Orchestra.
