Otis & Eunice

Samuel Adebayo

The Barker

Samuel Adebayo is 23 years old and currently in his final year of training at LAMDA. At the age of 17 Samuel joined the Young Lyric which gave him the opportunity to explore his passion for acting. Samuel enjoys collaborating in performance because it brings people together to achieve a common goal. Samuel has enjoyed sharing of Otis and Eunice because it is the exact embodiment of what it means to be an ensemble.

Mabel Aitken

Director

Mabel worked as an Actress for over 20 years in theatre, radio, TV and film including work at The Traverse Theatre, Edinburgh Royal Lyceum, Donmar Warehouse and Young Vic. Her TV and film work includes The Life of Stuff, Fever Pitch, Nervous Energy, Rab C. Nesbitt, Sea of Souls, Hamish Macbeth and Coming Soon. She started teaching and lecturing five years ago and has worked at many drama colleges including  East 15, BADA, Boomsatsuma, BFI Academy and  BOVTS where she has teaches theatre acting and screen acting and has directed for the past four years. Her club night ProperGanda in Stoke Newington has run for five years and is on the first Friday of every month. 

Flo Ambrose

Music & Project Coordinator

Flo has worked for the Royal College of Music as the Performance, Programming and Faculty Manager since June 2007. In her role at the RCM she manages the artistic programme in conjunction with the Artistic Director and oversees the forward planning of the performance spaces and the calendar of events. Flo studied music at Leeds College of Music specialising in the recorder and the double bass. Before she joined the RCM she worked for the Royal Northern College of Music as the Assistant Orchestra Manager and then Orchestra Manager.

Julia del Barrio

Duke

Julia del Barrio was born and raised in Los Angeles California. Growing up she took part in ballet. She left the dance world at 16 and started acting. Julia started taking part in short films and student films, enjoying the atmosphere and intimacy of the work. Julia auditioned for conservatories in her final year of high school and was accepted to LAMDA. Julia is now in her final year of training and has loved her time in London. She was very excited to be a part of this project that will hopefully allow two shows to intertwine beautifully through technology.

Pablo Barrios

Composer

Pablo is a Venezuelan-born composer and pianist in the second year of his undergraduate degree at the RCM studying composition with Mark-Anthony Turnage. Over the past three years, Pablo has received numerous commissions to write for various genres and his compositions have been premiered in the UK at Westminster Abbey, Adrian Boult Hall, St John Smith’s Square and internationally at the Manoel Theatre in Malta. Prior to studying at the RCM, Pablo was a student at the Purcell School, where he won the Tim Stevenson Award for Composition.

Lily Baron

Camera Operator

Lily Baron has a passion for art including all things film and theatre. She is an award nominated director for a film made in collaboration with the BFI. Lily has been to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a technician and looks forward to many more years gaining knowledge there. She is currently a student at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and whilst there has been the lighting designer and op for Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Stage Manager for Haunted House. Other artistic credits include she was an artist at an art squat, 59 Rue de Rivoli, in Paris and was a writer in residence at Shakespeare and Company.

Elizabeth Benbow

Associate Director

Lizzie graduated from LAMDA with her MA in Directing last September. Previous productions as director include Friday Night Queues with Full Disclosure Theatre Company at the Southwark Playhouse, Flying Ant Day with Broken Silence at the Old Red Lion, Out of Love at LAMDA and Tension Square at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Assisting credits include Ionesco’s The Lesson at The Hope Theatre, and The Two Gentlemen of Verona as part of LAMDA’s Autumn Season. Whilst in training she worked on CabaretWe are Three Sisters and The Merchant of Venice. Lizzie is interested in female-led new writing, exploring subjects that are deemed taboo in our society.

Mary Bennett

Electrical Assistant & Usher

Mary is currently studying for a BA in production arts at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Her most recent work here includes Stage Manager for Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and LX Operating for The Haunted House.  Mary previously worked backstage and Front of House for Norwich Theatre Royal. Credits include: Dresser for Miss Saigon UK tour 2018, Stage Manager for Grease andFollowspot cover for Sleeping Beauty. Mary has also worked with Norwich Theatre Royal’s Stage Two. Stage Manager credits include: Lords and Ladies, Assistant Stage Manager credits include: Burying Your Brother in The Pavement. Mary also designed and operated lighting for Lewis Riches at the Artist Development Showcase. Mary designed and operated sound for The Magic Kingdoom at Stage Two for Access to Music and has also composed piano music for Access to Music including Time Again at Stage Two, Norwich.

Kaija Brunyate

Assistant Stage Manager & Usher

Kaija is currently studying for a degree in Production Arts at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Credits at BOVTS include: Assistant Stage Manager for Haunted House, AV Designer, AV Operator and Illustrator for animation for Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy. In the past Kaija has achieved a UWLQ Level 4 Diploma in Musical Theatre Performance and has been involved onstage and backstage with local Am-dram productions in her home town, leading to her directing a production of Bugsy Malone with The Marshfield Players. She has also volunteered front of house for Kneehigh Theatre Company at their Asylum festivals in 2016 and 2018. In the future Kaija hopes to embellish her hands-on making skills, explore the world of automata and learn to play the hurdy gurdy. This coming summer she will be performing with Puppets in Prague at Letni Letna Festival.

Irena Cashman

Caroline the Bearded Lady

Irena Cashman grew up in Australia where she trained in dance and performing arts at the National College of Dance. She later moved to London to pursue a career in dance and theatre by joining the degree course in Professional Dance and Performance at the Central School of Ballet. With a passion for performing contemporary and classical dance and musical theatre, she also enjoys choreography and is currently creating a piece in collaboration with Central St Martins for the 2019 Design for Dance project.

Sharon Clark

Creative Director

Sharon is a playwright, dramaturge, producer and Creative Director of Raucous, a theatre company that fuses performance, music, film and creative technology. She is a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio, Associate Artist at the egg, Bath and lecturer at Bath Spa University. She was awarded a Bruntwood Judge's prize in 2017 and in 2018 she was awarded two fellowships: one with the South West Creative Technology Network exploring advancements in immersion and performance and one with the Royal Shakespeare Company and augmented reality company, Magic Leap.

Tom Codd

Local Sound Effects Mixer & Operator

Tom is currently studying Production Arts at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School where he specialises in sound. His previous experiences include: Assistant Stage Manager in The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy and Sound Designer and Operator for Haunted House

Madeleine Coward

Deputy Stage Manager

Madeleine is a Production Arts student at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She also works as a freelance stage manager and technician, with an interested in devised and ensemble work.

She began specialising in theatre production during a year in Bristol Old Vic’s Made in Bristol programme (2016/17), which culminated with the formation of INKBLOC ensemble, of which she is a co-founding member. With Made in Bristol, Madeleine was Assistant Stage Manager for Bristol Old Vic’s251st Birthday celebration: Open Stage (2017)and on for their Young Company’s co-production with Melksham Oak School, The Tracks (2017). Since beginning her theatre school training, she has stage managed The Wardrobe Ensemble’s South Western (2018),and INKBLOC ensemble’s Onwards & Upwards (2018).

Tingying Dong

Sound Designer

Ting is a third-year student at LAMDA specialising in sound design. Her professional experience includes sound design on Safety Net (Etcetera Theatre); assistant/associate sound on Thick As Thieves (Tour), Sparks (Hightide Festival), Jack and the Beanstalk (Lyric Hammersmith) and Twist (Theatre Centre). LAMDA productions she has worked on are: Sound Designer on Bare: A Pop Opera; Sound Designer and PSE on Welcome to Thebes, Hay Fever, Other People; PSE and Sound no 1 on Cabaret; Sound Assistant on Bury Fair. She has also taken part in work placements with Autograph, and crew work.

James Druce

Trombone

James is currently in his third year at the Royal Academy of Music studying with Mark Templeton and Ian Bousfield on a generous scholarship. He has had the opportunity to play with many Academy Ensembles including Symphony Orchestra, Opera and Symphonic Brass. The Academy has also given him the opportunity to play with the Philharmonia, the Czech Philharmonic and Septura.

James started his career as a chorister at St Pauls Cathedral with many highlights including two proms and BBC Radio 3 solos. James continued studying trombone with Simon Hogg at Warwick School where he gained grade eight and Diploma ABRSM distinctions and prizes including the Gertrude Bark Award and Rotary Young Musician. He was also principal trombone of the National Youth Wind Orchestra and has professionally played with the Grand Philharmonic and Pro Youth Philharmonic, touring the UK and Mumbai.

Chloe English

Yannis

Chloe English is currently in her final year of a BA Acting course at LAMDA. She was born in Liverpool where she attended RARE theatre school at the weekends and it was here she learned about drama schools. With a lot of support from RARE theatre school’s teachers and directors she was offered a place at LAMDA and has had the best experience over the past three years. 

Callum Finn

Production Manager

Callum is a freelance Production Manager who holds a BA (Hons) in Production and Stage Management from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art. Recent Theatre credits include: All is True (Southwark Playhouse), Pinocchio (Immersion Theatre, UK Tour), Grandad’s Island (Engine House Theatre, Uk and Geneva Tour), A Crag Path Christmas (AJH), Cinderella and the Beanstalk (Theatre 503), Seussical (Southwark Playhouse), Drowned or Saved? (Tristan Bates Theatre), Euroboat (Viking Line Cruises), Daisy Pulls It Off (Park Theatre) and Hamlet (KBTC). Film credits include: Artemis Fowl (Disney) and All is True (TKBC). Previously Callum worked as Assistant Head of Production at RADA.

Alexandros J Fragkos

Otis

Alexandros has been trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and the National Theatre of Greece Drama School. His stage experience, thus far, ranges from ancient drama, to modern and post-modern theatre. He has worked with the National Theatre of Greece, and independent productions in Greece, UK and Netherlands

Niamh Gaffney

Sound Desk Operator

Niamh is a second year student studying at LAMDA, she has recently finished working on Bare: A Pop Opera as Production Sound Engineer/Operator. Previous work includes Sound Designer for Strange Orchestra and Technical Stage Manager/Sound Designer for We Are Three Sisters. Niamh will be progressing on to her third year to specialise in sound design in September. Niamh has recently moved from Ireland to study at LAMDA, where previously she has worked on shows such as Inglorious Bastards LIVE!, Reservoir Dogs LIVE!Oliver the musical and Junk Kouture. Currently Niamh is on a work placement at Autograph Sound.

Peter Greenwood

Tuba

Peter is currently a first year postgraduate scholar at the Royal Academy of Music studying with Patrick Harrild, having previously completed his undergraduate degree at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. Professionally, Peter has worked with the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Orchestra of the Welsh National Opera, Bristol Ensemble, S4C television, as well as playing offstage brass with the Philharmonia Orchestra as part of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama. This has involved working with conductors such as Vladimir Ashkenazy, Thomas Sondegard, Tomas Hanus and Tadaaki Otaka. As a soloist, Peter was a runner-up in the National Eisteddfod Blue Ribband Competition, which was broadcast live on television, and also performed a recital at the Penarth Music Festival. Peter’s studies at the Royal Academy of Music are kindly supported by the Arts Council of Wales, and the Ryan Davies Memorial Trust.

Nancy Hall

Eunice

Nancy Hall is currently a second year actor at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, Playbox Theatre and National Youth Theatre. Credits include The Donkeys Tale Nativity, Ruff Guide to Shakespeare, Blessings (Camden Fringe Festival), Richard II (Stone Yard Theatre), Twenty Something (Edinburgh Fringe Festival) and The Mysteries (Playbox Theatre, RSC). She will soon appear in The Canterbury Tales. Playing the part of Eunice for this production has been exciting and challenging.

Danni Haylett

Stage Manager

Danni Haylett is a freelance stage manager based in London. Since graduating from RADA in 2017 she has worked as Assistant Stage Manager on the Rome Season (Barbican Transfer), Assistant Stage Manager/Book Cover for Long Day’s Journey Into Night (Directed by Richard Eyre) and Assistant Stage Manager/Bookcover for Caroline or Change (Directed by Michael Longhurst). She's also taken on roles such as a Props Assistant with the props supervising company Lizzie Props LTD and Company Stage Manager with the Acosta Danza debut tour in 2017/18 in various theatres including New York City Centre and Les Nuits de Fourviere in Lyon.

Kate Hester

Banner

Kate is currently in her second year at Central School of Ballet completing a degree in Professional Dance and Performance. She is focusing on achieving a career as a ballet dancer with an interest in choreography. Recently she choreographed for the Design for Dance project in collaboration with Central Saint Martins.

Beth Hudson

Lighting Designer & Operator

Beth is a final year stage management student specialising in lighting. This is Beth’s first lighting design role at the theatre school and she is very excited to be working on Otis and Eunice. Beth enjoyed working with a promenade audience, along with a live link but also working with three different spaces throughout one show. She has worked in a variety of venues including the Weston Studio at the Bristol Old Vic, Circomedia and the Bristol Hippodrome. She has worked with different rigs including an all LED rig at the Weston Studio and worked with touring companies at the Bristol Hippodrome. She is currently working as a casual technician at the Bristol Hippodrome and the Bristol Old Vic Weston Studio.

Corben Jones

Lighting Designer

Corben Jones is studying at LAMDA and graduates in July 2019. Corben’s main discipline is lighting design. He has been designing lighting and programming shows for around two years and enjoys being part of the creative team to make new theatre. Corben is also involved in the technical side of the work and has a full understanding of the equipment involved in designing. Corben has worked on college and drama school productions as well as professional work including BBC Introducing The Pale White (2017), BBC General Election Local County (2017), LADS (2018), The Treatment (2018) and Three days in the country (2018).

Joe Kiely

Composer

Joe Kiely has worked as both a cinematographer and composer in Sydney, New York and London. His expertise span a range of mediums including long form documentaries, short and feature films soundtracks, commercials, and branded content; covering everything from ALDI Champagne to major international tourism campaigns. As a composer, his music has been brought to life on Off-Broadway stages, at international arts festivals, and broadcast on television. His unique interdisciplinary skillset blends cinematography and music symbiotically, giving life and emotional backstory to the work he creates. Currently, Joe contracts for CNN International in London where he films and composes bespoke material for their advertisers while completing the final year of his Masters of Composition for the Screen as a Scholar at the Royal College of Music.

Leanne King

Choreographer

Leanne trained at the Arts Educational School in London. She has both choreographed for and performed with many small companies and has choreographer credits in television and film. Leanne teaches Contemporary to Central's first year students and oversees second year choreography including the collaborative choreographic project Design for Dance with Central Saint Martins. Leanne has both national and international teaching/choreographic credits to her name and having taught at the Royal Academy of Dance, Arts Educational School and the Royal Ballet School, Leanne is now Course Development Co-ordinator for the Senior School at Central and also continues to teach open classes at Danceworks. Credits include the conception and choreography for production company Fait Accompli for the London 2012 Olympics, a sell-out season at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a one off performance at the Royal Albert Hall. Leanne has coached and choreographed for two students at the Central School of Ballet throughout their journey to the contemporary category finals of BBC Young Dancer 2015.

Heloise Lowenthal

Hallie

Heloise is training at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. Most recently she appeared in as Meredith in F Off (Criterion Theatre); and was part of the R&D for Pericles (National Theatre). Other credits include Ann in Slag by David Hare; Connie in The Effect by Lucy Prebble; Beryl in Semi-Monde by Noel Coward; Emma in Pterodactyls by Nicky Silver, as well as in musicals as Wendla in Sater’s Spring Awakening; and Lynette Fromme in Sondheim’s Assassins. She has also appeared as Ophelia in Hamlet; Helena in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Sir Toby in Twelfth Night. On screen she has appeared as Marleen McKinnon in Mischief Managed; and Ellie in Port Isaac.

Connor Lyster

Percussion

Connor started learning the drum kit age six, playing in local ensembles such as the Portsmouth Junior Wind Band and the Highbury Area Band before taking a keen interest in all aspects of percussion. Aged 12 he successfully auditioned for the Hampshire County Youth Orchestra (HCYO), where he spent six years and three years as principal percussionist. With HCYO, Connor had the opportunity to perform major works such as The Rite of Spring, Carmina Burana, and many symphonies. During this time, Connor studied with Mark Flintoft from the Royal Marines Band Service and Matt King from the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. Since September 2017, Connor has been studying percussion and timpani at the Royal College of Music as an RCM Award Holder supported by a Douglas and Hilda Simmonds Scholarship. Connor currently studies with Alex Neal (orchestral percussion) and Andy Smith (timpani).

Ryu Maeda

Tiger Boy

Ryu Maeda travelled from Japan and is currently studying in his second year at Central School of Ballet in London completing a degree in Professional Dance and Performance.

Elkie Rose McCrimmon

Camera Operator

Elkie Rose McCrimmon is a Bristol-based filmmaker and digital content creator. She works closely with Rife Magazine to produce digital content for young people, working in camera and stills photography and has recently had the opportunity to be a youth juror for Encounters Film Festival. As a BFI alumni she has gone on to work on an array of projects including Channel 4’s Random Acts, the National Film and Television School Craft Residential and at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Her work has been nominated for awards across the globe allowing her to travel and meet like-minded young creatives. She is currently studying for a degree in Production Arts Stage and Screen at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.

Holly Moon-Griffith

Lally the Lobster Woman

Holly Moon-Griffith grew up in London and is currently training at Central School of Ballet in order to pursue a career in contemporary dance, ballet and theatre. Past performances include a charity gala performance at the Royal Opera House (2014) and Clara’s Friend at Bloomsbury Theatre (2013), both for Young Dancers Academy/West London School of Dance, and White Rabbit in Alice in Wonderland at The Briton Theatre, choreographed by Jenna Lee (2016). Whilst studying at Central School of Ballet, Holly has taken part in a variety of performance experiences including the 2018 and 2019 Design For Dance productions.

Ian Morgan

Director

Ian is a theatre practitioner and actor trainer working collaboratively across genres. After training he worked and developed as a performer in France at Monika Pagneux and Philipe Gaulier’s Studio and with Teatro Pirequa at the Théâtre du Soleil, and in Italy at Jerzy Grotowski and Thomas Richards’s Workcenter. Returning to the UK, he was a founding member of Mkultra Performance Collective and devised and performed with artists including Meredith Monk, Guillermo Gómez-Peña, Enrique Pardo, Kristen Linklater, Philip Zarrilli, Helen Chadwick and Dan Canham’s Still House project. In 2003 Ian joined the award-winning Song of the Goat Theatre in Poland, touring extensively in Chronicles: A Lamentation, Lacrimosa, Macbeth and King Lear, and teaching on its ground-breaking MA in Acting. From 2014 Ian was Course Leader for the MA/MFA in Actor Training and Coaching at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. He has taught on RADA’s MA Theatre Lab since its inception in 2012 and became course leader in 2017.

Daniel Murphy

Guitar

Daniel Murphy has been playing plucked stringed instruments for 15 years.  He has trained with some of the world’s leading guitarists and lutenists at the Guildhall School of Music and the Royal College of Music. He is currently completing his undergraduate music gegree at the Royal College of Music. Daniel Murphy has received the Michael Badminton Award for most promising string player. His musical career has been supported by Norfolk Youth Music Trust, EMI sound foundation, Norwich Baroque and North Norfolk Sinfonia.

Nicola Mutton

Music Coordinator

Nicola is Director of Artistic Planning at the Royal Academy of Music with overall responsibility for the creative programming and management of all performance activity. Having trained as a violinist at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama, after graduating she worked as orchestra fixer and Assistant to the Artistic Director at the Scottish Ensemble and then for the Britten Sinfonia as Concerts and Marketing Manager before joining the Academy in 2001.

Evie Nichols

Sound Designer & Vocal Mix

Evie Nichols is in her final year at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, on the Stage Management and Technical Theatre Course, specialising in theatre sound. Evie found the technical elements behind this production fascinating and was very excited to be working on Otis and Eunice as Sound Designer and mixer for BOVTS. Having all the actors mic’d for the show was a challenge especially mixing into another performance venue through the LOLA link. Evie has worked on a variety of different shows for BOVTS including the February thriller Let The Right One In at Ciromedia; Mrs Beeton Says a new musical and Kingdom (Or The Anthropocene).

Matthew Olyver

Viola

Matthew Olyver is a Manson Fellow of Composition at the Royal Academy of Music, where he is currently studying towards a PhD in Composition. Matthew has written for the Slovak National Symphony Orchestra, the Manson Ensemble, the Heath Quartet, the Ligeti Quartet, CHROMA Ensemble, pianist Huw Watkins, violinist Michael Foyle and the recorder player Tabea Debus. His music has been played at Dartington, Cheltenham and Spitalfields music festivals. Currently Matthew is working on a commission for the London Mozart Players. In May 2017, his piece for viola and piano Altair was performed by Timothy Ridout at the Gasteig in Munich and was broadcast live on German Radio. In February 2018 the recorder quartet Block4 premiered his piece My Last Breath at the Les Goûts Réunis concert series in Amsterdam. Matthew received a Distinction and an additional DipRAM prize for an outstanding composition portfolio for his Masters study at the Royal Academy of Music.

Siena Pledge

Sacha

Siena Pledge is in her second year at Central School of Ballet studying for a degree in Professional Dance and Performance. Her recent performance credits include dancing as part of the Design for Dance project in collaboration with Central Saint Martins design students; and performing with Yorke Dance Project in their revival of Kenneth MacMillan’s Playground as part of their 20th anniversary tour this year. She aspires to be working in a ballet or contemporary dance company after completing her three years of training. 

Eliza Podesta

Floor Manager & Local Deputy Stage Manager

Eliza Podesta is a first year Production Arts student at BOVTS. Since hearing about LOLA at the start of the production process Eliza knew that it would be something great to be a part of. Having the role as Floor Manager/Local DSM means Eliza was involved with stage management in the Bristol production. She also worked closely with the technical and design team. Eliza has loved the whole process of this unique show and is excited to see where the technology leads the industry in the future.

A J Quinn

Director

Anthony is Head of Screen and Audio Performance at LAMDA. A BAFTA-nominated director, he has directed over 100 hours of prime-time drama for the BBC, ITV, C4 and RTE in Ireland. On graduating from Cambridge University, he began his career in theatre as an assistant director at the RSC. He then joined BBC Radio Drama as a producer, before being invited onto the BBC TV Drama Directors Course. At LAMDA, Anthony has produced over 80 short films featuring graduating year actors, many of which have also been selected for national and international festivals. In addition to acting as LAMDA’s lead on this exciting project, Anthony also leads LAMDA’s research activity. Outside LAMDA, Anthony produces non-broadcast programming for clients including Accenture and Adecco through his company AGC Productions, and coaches corporate clients in screen performance.

Katja Quist

Ami Fury

Katja is currently first year of a foundation degree in acting at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She is also a National Youth Theatre Member and was in the National Student Drama Festival Company in 2014. Credits include Mind The Gap (Edinburgh Fringe Festival), Write Night (Manchester Lass O’Gowrie), Slick and Olympics and Paralympics Team Welcome Ceremonies (National Youth Theatre).

Julia Romano

Azra

Julia Romano is an actress from St Helens. She started training at her local dance school when she was five and then moved to acting at the Lowry Young Actors Company when she was 15. Following five years of auditioning she won a place at the National Youth Theatre, and in the same year got into LAMDA for the BA Acting Course and Warwick University to study English Literature. After completing her NYT course in 2016, she decided to go to LAMDA to train. The Virtual Conservatoire has been a wonderful opportunity for Julia, it has been challenging yet rewarding, and she is very proud to be one of the five students representing LAMDA.

Raphael Ruiz

Ernst

Raphael Ruiz is an actor, writer and director. He is an acting graduate of RADA and the artistic director of be•wilder theatre. His company’s productions range from physical theatre, commedia dell’arte, absurd theatre to opera and focus on new writing, and devising. His stage credits include: Old Joe's Fish 'n' Chill (RADA Festival, Bloomsbury Festival, SLAM (King’s Cross, King’s Head Theatre), Close Your Eyes (Tristan Bates Theatre, The Old Red Lion, The Old Diorama), Infinium (Les Enfants Terribles), Should We Stay or Should We Go (Arcola Theatre), Five Stories (Battersea Arts Centre), THREE’S A CROWD (Rooted Moon Festival), Taratogenic (The Bread & Roses Theatre), Scum (Park Theatre), The Fair Penitent (Ovalhouse Theatre) and Antigone (Théâtre Les Déchargeurs). He wrote a libretto for the opera The Fermi Paradox staged at the Royal College of Music. Abroad he has presented work in Prague, Paris, Lisbon and Castelsardo, Sardinia.

Anna Schiwy

Costume Assistant

Anna was born in New York to a German father and Mexican mother. She currently studies Costume Design at Wimbledon College of Arts (UAL) and holds a Foundation Diploma in Art & Design from the University of the Arts London.  In 2013 she studied an intense course privately under the tutorage of Claudia Lozano from Centro de Estudios de Diseño y Arte (CEDA) in Mexico City in basic tailoring and pattern cutting. She has worked on projects for LAMDA and postgraduate chorography students from the University of Roehampton.

Charlotte Schnurr

Violin

Charlotte began learning the piano aged three and two years later started lessons on the violin with Dejan Mijajev of the Antwerp Conservatoire. In 2007 Charlotte attended Chetham’s School of Music studying with Cathy Perkins, Jan Repko and Ben Holland. Starting at the Royal College of Music in September 2015 as a Soirée d'Or Award Foundation Scholar, she has played in many orchestral concerts, most notably working with conductors such as John Wilson, Rafael Payare and Martyn Brabbins amongst many others. Her string quartet, The Delphi Quartet, have played at many festivals including Daylight Festival at the Union Chapel, Brighton Festival and Marylebone Festival. The Delphi Quartet holds a Junior Fellowship position at the Aberystwyth Musicfest. In 2017, Charlotte starting working with artist Blanco White, touring worldwide and selling out venues across Europe and the US. Her session work includes appearances at Spotify Studios NYC, Abbey Road Studios, Chale Abbey Studios and Kensaltown Studios, recording with artists such as Blanco White, Steve Diggle and Ell Kendall.

Frederick Spring

Sound Assistant & Usher

Frederick Spring is a first year undergraduate student in Production Arts (stage and screen) at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He has worked as an Assistant Stage Manager on shows with the Salisbury playhouse youth theatre such as Peer Gynt and Oh what a lovely war. He has also been involved in WW1 memorial productions such as we’re here because we’re here event that happened nation-wide. He was first involved in theatre at the age of eight when he enrolled into the local youth theatre to help him develop his confidence.

Joe Stathers

Sound & Lighting Supervisor

Joe joined BOVTS in 2018 after several years as a visiting tutor and external lighting designer on public performances. He is also a freelance lighting and video projection designer working in theatre, opera, dance and live music. He has worked on everything from large outdoor, events to two-way video streamed internet performances and TV drama. Before moving to Bristol he taught at LIPA for many years, including 12 as Head of Theatre & Performance Design & Technology. He graduated with a BA Hons in Drama from Bristol University, and a PG Cert in Learning & Teaching for HE at Liverpool John Moores.

Ralph Stokeld

Technical, Production & Theatre Electrician

Ralph has worked in lighting production since 2009 collaborating alongside numerous directors and designers in the areas of theatre, opera and live events. He has toured extensively both in the UK and Internationally. Selected credits include Lighting Designer for Ovid's Metamorphoses (Pants On Fire/2010-2019), In The Locked Room/The Lighthouse (Royal College of Music/2018), Frankenstein: A Modern Prometheus (RCM/2018), Crime & Punishment (RCM/2016), Hogarth Stages (RCM/2014), New Year's Eve (Timeout. The Shard/2013), A Midsummer Night's Dream (Tooting Arts/2013) and Pinocchio (Pants On Fire/2013). He was Production Electrician for A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Cunning Little Vixen, Les mamelles de Tirésias & Une éducation manqué, La Finta Giadiniera, Hansel & Gretal, Die Fledermaus, Albert Herring, The Magic Flute, La Gazzetta (RCM 2014-2018), Faramondo, Ariodante, Giove In Argo (London Handel Festival 2015-2017), Bandages (Kirsty Housley/2013), The Master and Margarita (Complicite/2012-2013), La Boheme, Jeptha, Cosi fan tutte (Welsh National Opera/2012) and The Man with the Luggage (Trestle/2011).

Stuart Thompson

Alessandro

Stuart Thompson is 20 years old and originally from Durham. He started dancing at the age of five and started singing and acting from the age of eight. Stuart moved to London at 16 and was fortunate enough to gain a scholarship to attend Arts Ed sixth form to study musical theatre, drama and dance. In his second year, he interned in the wardrobe department, making costumes for the graduating shows. After sixth form, he was lucky enough to get a place at LAMDA. Stuart was excited to be a part of the Virtual Conservatoire project, and cannot wait to see what was discovered through the performances.

Jack Thrush

Screen & Audio Production Technician

Jack Thrush has worked in education for the past ten years, helping students and tutors from different walks of life create films, audio dramas, music recordings, stage performances and animations. Prior to this he worked as a Sound Operator at Technicolor London where he provided sound sync and edit assist services on films such as Quantum of Solace, The Young Victoria and The Imaginarium of Dr Parnassus. He is a keen video and audio editor and enjoys producing short documentaries and promotional films around the performing arts, as well as filming live bands and studio sessions.

Liam Taylor West

Composer

Liam is the recipient of the 2018 British Composer Award in the Community or Educational Project category for The Umbrella, and the current holder of The Bliss Trust's Scholarship to Study in the USA. Liam is working towards a doctoral degree in composition at the Royal College of Music in London, studying with William Mival, Mark-Anthony Turnage and Gilbert Nouno (IRCAM). He is Creative Director of the immersive audio company Roomsize, established as part of Digital Catapult's CreativeXR programme, and is a resident at Watershed's Pervasive Media Studio in Bristol. Recent premieres include Balance, performed as part of Roomsize’s Open Space showcase at the Royal College of Music’s Britten Theatre (1 October 2018); Day One and The Umbrella, performed by OpenUp Music's RPS Music Award-winning South West Open Youth Orchestra at Bristol’s We The Curious (9 April 2018).

Kizzie Tims

Kizzie is currently studying at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and is excited to begin her career in backstage arts. Previous credits at BOVTS include Haunted House (Dir: Sara Malik), The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Dir: Charissa Martinkauppi) and Deputy Stage Manager for The Play that Goes Wrong (Dir: Leila Glen).

Chanel Waddock

Darcey Fury

Chanel Waddock is currently a second year actor at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She also has a Guildford School of Acting Foundation Degree and was a National Youth Theatre Member. Credits at BOVTS include The Donkeys Tale Nativity, Ruff Guide to Shakespeare and soon to be performing in The Canterbury Tales. Other credits include Sensual Breathing for Off The Block Festival (Reading Between The Lines Company), Man Down (Channel 4) and The Crown (Netflix). Chanel is thrilled to be part of the Otis and Eunice team.

Joe Watson

Dog Boy

Joe Watson is in his second year at Central School of Ballet of a three year degree course in Professional Dance and Performance. He is hoping to achieve a career in contemporary dance and has an interest in choreography.

Sarah Warren

Set Designer

Sarah Warren graduated from Bristol Old Vic Theatre School in July 2011 after completing an MA in Theatre Design as an award winning student. Prior to this she studied fine art and became involved in film and theatre when she worked as a set builder, painter and model maker on the Wallace and Gromit feature film Curse of The Were-Rabbit and then as the props maker for Bristol Old Vic Theatre. Since graduating in 2011 she has designed the sets and costumes for several theatre productions including shows for The SanaRt Theatre Company, community based theatre and film for Theatre Orchard, costume design for Insane Root's site specific productions, and amongst others set and Costume Design for The Rover staged ​at Bristol Old Vic Studio.​ In 2015 she was the Assistant Designer on a British independent feature film Access All Areas and has worked on several short films. Sarah also teaches model making, for specific projects, at Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and has designed and assisted on a number of their shows, including Costume Design Supervisor for King Lear performed at Bristol Old Vic directed by Tom Morris and Set and Costume Design for How to Disappear Completely and Never be Found.
