Access information

The main entrance to the RCM has eight steps up from the pavement and two inside the main doors. A lift is available for visitors with limited mobility. The lift is built into the smaller staircase to the left of the main entrance steps. There is an intercom button on the control panel, which can be seen and reached easily from the street. On arrival, press the buzzer to notify a member of RCM staff, who will come out to meet you and operate the lift for you.
All our event venues can be accessed by visitors with limited mobility via the lift at the main entrance.
Disabled parking bays
There are a limited number of disabled parking bays managed by Westminster Borough Council on Prince Consort Road and in the area around the Royal Albert Hall, which are within 175 metres ofthe RCM. In addition, there are spaces managed by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea on Exhibition Road, which are within 600 metres of the RCM.

Getting around
All areas of the main Blomfield Building are accessible by wheelchair users. Disabled toilet facilities are available on the ground and second floors.
Guide and companion dogs
Guide and companion dogs are welcome at the RCM. If you are attending an event with your guide or companion dog, please let us know when you are booking tickets so that we can offer appropriate seating where your dog can remain with you during the performance.
There is a water bowl for assistance dogs at the main reception. The nearest spending area is Hyde Park.

Events
The RCM has the facility to accommodate wheelchair users and visitors with guide and companion dogs in our main events venues: the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall and the Britten Theatre. Events held in other venues are often accessible too. Our Box Office staff will be able to advise you at the time of booking.
Unfortunately we are unable to offer wheelchair spaces for sale online. If you wish to book one of our dedicated wheelchair spaces in our main venues, please contact the Box Office.

Entrance
The main entrance to the Stalls contains 10 steps. A lift is also available for visitors with limited mobility.
Wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments
There are spaces for wheelchair users and their companions in Stalls rows A and M. Companions will be seated in adjacent seats or as near as possible.
Hearing facility
An induction loop is installed.
Toilets
An accessible WC is located on the ground floor. An additional accessible WC is located on the lower ground floor, which is accessible by lift.
Britten Theatre
Entrance
Step-free entrance is available for all patrons. When you recieve assistance at the main entrance, please inform the member of staff that you are visiting the Britten Theatre. You will then be escorted through the building via a step-free route.
Wheelchair users and people with mobility impairments
There are spaces for wheelchair users and their companions in Dress Circle (row A), on the left side of the Auditorium. There are seats which are easy to access in the Dress Circle (rows A and B) for people with limited mobility.
Hearing facility
There is currently no induction loop in the theatre.
Toilets
An accessible WC is located on the foyer level of the Britten Theatre complex.
Emergency evacuation
Disabled refuge areas are situated in strategic locations throughout the RCM. In the event of an evacuation there is a dedicated marshal to check the refuges and take appropriate action to ensure people are taken safely from the building.
