Arwel Morgan

Headshot for Arwel Morgan

Arwel Treharne Morgan is a London-based vocal coach whose students benefit from a wealth of experience at the highest levels of professional performance. After gaining a scholarship to the Royal Academy of Music with major awards for both piano and voice, he went on to study in the US and at the Banff International Centre, Canada.

His early performing career took him to internationally recognised venues and festivals — including the Royal Festival Hall, Royal Albert Hall, Wigmore Hall, Lincoln Center New York, and the Royal Opera House — as well as frequent broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.

Arwel has devoted most of his working life to his prolific singing studio, where he brings his insights to bear in developing singers at all stages. He works alongside leading conductors, directors and vocal coaches, and serves as Vocal Consultant to numerous venues including the Royal Danish Opera, Copenhagen, roles that keep him at the forefront of the professional opera world. He is often called upon to help professional singers through periods of vocal difficulty and help guide them in restoring and rediscovering their voices at the highest level.

His collaborative work with international coaches and conductors extends to working with them in his own studio space, creating a supportive yet focused environment that mirrors the demands of the operatic world. In addition, he regularly leads workshops in a range of international settings, working with diverse collaborators, including artists and practitioners beyond the vocal sphere, to foster a broader, interdisciplinary approach to performance and artistic development.

At the heart of Arwel's teaching is a guiding ethos: to facilitate release in both voice and body, enabling a return to innate expression.
