Our 2026/27 season is themed around Musical Innovators, putting you at the heart of the moments that reshaped the musical landscape.
Experience innovative music
Beethoven forms a central thread throughout the season, alongside composers who challenged convention and redefined what music could be. Naomi Woo conducts Stravinsky's ground-breaking The Firebird suite alongside Beethoven's Mass in C, while historically informed performance specialist Reinhard Goebel leads Beethoven's Eroica. Joana Carneiro returns to conduct Bartók and the dramatic Leonore Overture.
Jazz and new sounds
The RCM Jazz Orchestra celebrates visionary bandleaders from Count Basie and Duke Ellington to modern innovators Wynton Marsalis and Maria Schneider. Our ever-popular Wildlife Photographer of the Year concert also returns, pairing original compositions by RCM composers with striking images from Natural History Museum’s competition.
Outstanding visiting artists
Students and audiences alike can learn from leading musicians through public masterclasses, including internationally acclaimed pianist and RCM alumna Kathryn Stott and our Ensemble in Association, the Brodsky Quartet.
