Vera De Sa Pereira

Originally from Portugal, Vera Pereira has recently been awarded Associated of the
Royal Academy of Music.

Vera is very passionate about ballet music and she is very fortunate to be Principal
Bass at the Royal Ballet Sinfonia, orchestra of the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

As a professional Orchestra player she has performed and recorded with several
world renowned Orchestras such as English National Opera, BBC Concert
Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Ulster
Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra of London, Gulbenkian Orchestra, Orquestra
Sinfónica Portuguesa, Orquestra Metropolitana de Lisboa and as a guest Principal
at BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Northern Sinfonia, Royal Philharmonic
Concert Orchestra and European Union Youth Orchestra.

Vera is a dedicated educator, teaching privately, as well as a deputy at the Junior
Academy. She’s also been invited for small masterclasses at the Royal Academy of
Music and Birmingham Conservatoire.

She's been working with ESTA UK (European string teachers association) as a
trustee and director and has written articles for both ESTA Portugal and ESTA UK.
Vera plays a Lejeune Double Bass dated 1790.
