New Season: Spring 2015

Wednesday 3 December 2014

We’re delighted to announce our new Spring Season!

Take your pick from more than 100 events showcasing some of the world’s very best young musical talent, including concerts, family events, lectures and masterclasses.

The hottest ticket is sure to be the return visit of Vladimir Ashkenazy with a popular programme of works including Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune and Chopin’s second Piano Concerto. Make sure you book soon, as we expect his two concerts with the RCM Symphony Orchestra to sell out quickly.

This season the RCM also performs two popular programmes in high profile venues across London. The RCM Symphony Orchestra presents Ravel and Stravinsky’s most celebrated ballet scores at the Royal Festival Hall in conjunction with the Philharmonia Orchestra’s City of Light festival, while the RCM Philharmonic take audiences on a journey through the stars in the spectacular hall of Alexandra Palace with a performance of Holst’s The Planets.

As usual, we’re celebrating music old and new with a week-long festival dedicated to the baroque master J S Bach as well as the first performance in 15 years by electronic quartet Node. And don’t miss our two festivals this season spotlighting the music of Shostakovich, in a one-day event celebrating his first Cello Concerto, and Messiaen, in our much-loved annual keyboard festival.

To find out about all of these and much more visit www.rcm.ac.uk/events.

We look forward to welcoming you to the RCM.
