The Power of the Unconscious

RCM Research Fellow in Performance Science Dr Tania Lisboa has appeared on BBC Radio 4's Frontiers programme.

In this episode entitled The Power of the Unconscious, first broadcast on Wednesday 20 November, presenter Geoff Watts reveals the pivotal role the unconscious plays in pretty much everything we do, think and feel.

Tania contributes to the programme by discussing her main subject of research at the RCM: the relationship between the conscious and unconscious in both learning to play an instrument and also on preparing for memorised performances. She illustrates some of her research findings on the cello herself, and with a performance by RCM pianist Hao Chen.
